C+D traveled all the way from a beach on the East Coast to Tennessee just to take their adventure engagement photos in the Smoky Mountains because, as they put it, there’s not a hill in sight where they live. At the beginning stages of planning their adventurous experience they couldn’t decide between a waterfall hike or a trail with mountain views (who could blame them, both are incredible), so we mapped out a plan that would include the best of both worlds within the four-hour adventure session package.
The timeline for these two specific locations works so well:
1:30 Begin the hike, photos along the way, playtime at the waterfall
3:00 Make our way down the mountain
3:45 Change clothes and dry hair (I stash a portable generator in my car)
4:00 Head to Cades Cove for a scenic drive stopping for photos along the way
First, we met at a place right outside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (i.e., where there is cell phone service) and followed one another to our starting destination. We began the hike to the waterfall while taking it slow, enjoying the scenery, and sharing stories with each other along the trail. At the falls, we spent close to an hour exploring and playing in the water before hiking back down the mountain. Back at our cars, C+D freshened up and we drove to Cades Cove just in time for golden hour and sunset.
