Holy mother of love! Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge is everything I imagined the PNW to be before visiting. I flew into Portland, OR with plans to explore parts Oregon and Washington while I was traveling the region capturing a few incredible couples and their love. I rented a Mazda CX-5 through Turo, converted it into my tent on wheels, and set off car camping for the week. Turo is the AirBnB of car rentals, and it allowed me to choose the exact vehicle for my needs and way cheaper than your traditional car rental company (a total win-win). I highly suggest you try it out for yourself for your next trip, and sign up through here to save $25 on your first booking.
The first photo shoot of the week was this gorgeous waterfall session with Lauren and Gavin. Latourell Falls is only forty minutes east of Portland and is the closest waterfall to the city. The loop trail is a fairly easy hike, measuring slightly over two miles from start to finish.
As we walked to the bottom of the falls, the wind and mist were insane, making it an adventure wedding photographer's dream! A raging sensation ran through my body as I stared up from the base of the gorge and watched the water plunge down from 249' (or maybe 224' depending on where you read). This empowering viewpoint was simply astonishing. Goodness gracious, Oregon you're beautiful. Thank you Lauren and Gavin for sharing your fierce love with me.
