Centennial Park Engagement | Nashville Wedding Photographer
I've been told countless times that I'm really good at making people feel comfortable. Almost every session ends with "that wasn't at all awkward like I thought it was going to be". I would blame my own quirky personality for the reason people didn't feel weird, but now I see that it's not as simple as that excuse. As I'm connecting with more couples and the deeper my self-awareness goes, I'm realizing that perhaps it is the developed comfort in my own skin that radiates to others making them feel safe to open themselves up to me. Since the rebranding to Magnolia + Ember, I've vowed to show my authentic self to clients. I share deeper conversations than I ever would have before, and each one gives me something more I needed for personal growth. I'm have an INFP personality and tend to keep my thoughts within or hide behind the monitor as I blog sparingly in Artist's Diary, but it's been really cool opening myself up to others face-to-face. I believe everything in life happens for a reason, and people (clients too) show up in life for meanings more profound than we know consciously. I'm pretty sure at this point this blog has completely diverted from the originally intended context, but out of all fairness Magnolia + Ember is built around ME and my fiery passion. All this to say: Be yourself and bring your genuineness to the table for your photo shoot.
Engagement sessions are so much more than traditional pictures that people expect you to have when you get engaged. I create experiences with my couples that will forever hold the amazing energy of time spent together capturing love between two souls. The interaction I have with couples during a shoot allows the creation of genuine emotions that are not staged.
How to rock your engagement session:
1. Show up with your walls down.
2. Be ready to have fun.
3. Trust me and the crazy things I say during the shoot.
4. Focus on your partner and let the world fade.
Enough heartfelt rambling, here is Brian and Barker's sizzling engagement session at Centennial Park in Nashville. These guys blew their session out of the water. A fastinating example of everything I talked about above - love, love, and some more love. Oh and doggies too!
