Couples Photo Shoot in the PNW at Lake Wenatchee in Washington
After the first adventurous couples session in Oregon on my recent trip to Pacific Northwest, I headed a bit north to Washington where I met Eli and Chelsea at Lake Wenatchee State Park to photograph their love. And let me tell you, these two and their infectious laughter make my heart happy.
I used to be very nervous taking photos of photographers or even talking to others about photography. [Side note: I also used to care way too much about what people thought of me in general, hints why I'm so adamant about authenticity now. I push myself to stay genuine in every situation I get myself in.] I was afraid that they would judge how I took pictures or think I was doing something wrong technically, and that shit would reflect in my photos. I would get so overwhelmed with my own insecurities that I likely caused others to be uncomfortable as they could sense my own whacked energy. But man how things have changed.
I've learn that working with other photographers is a wonderful gift, I grow. Surprise, surprise. By learning to love my whole self in the past couple of years through this deep soul-searching journey I've been on, I am able to let down my guard in front of others and prosper with each interaction. This holds true with every person I connect with, not just other creatives. But it has been super cool getting involved with other artists.
All this to say, these two lovers (both photographers) are prime examples of the evolution of the comfort in my photography, my art, my unique creations. The conversations I have with clients, the authentic in-between moments, and euphoric atmosphere that is created at my photo shoots are all linked to the beautiful emotions captured in each shot. I also give credit those who are madly in love and crazy about each other, that never hurts! And those who trust my game.
