Amy and David: Part 2
When one lover is a pilot, an airplane photo shoot makes sense. When you are like me, you ask the couple to do more than just take pictures with a plane - we soar! During their first session at Rock Island State Park we were suppose to fly out there capturing these cool photos to go along with their adventurous love story. Hurricane Irma had other plans. The winds prevented us from flying this private four-seater plane; so instead we were left driving. Honestly I'm thankful we didn't have the opportunity originally because seeing the Smokies and Blue Ridge Mountains from birds eye view was beyond incredible. We took off from Knoxville Downtown Island Airport, and excitement set in as the anxiety from flying in a tiny aircraft faded. Mind you last time I was in a small plane I didn't land with it, rather I jumped out at 10,000 feet. Needless to say senses were heightened being in this position again.
When we arrived at the Gatlinburg - Pigeon Forge Airport, we spent some time outside the plane. Talk about messy hair heaven as other planes were touching down! Everything about this adventure photo shoot makes me happy. So much awesomeness packed into one photography session.
On our way back home to the Knoxville airport, I even got to switch places with Amy and fly in the co-pilot position! Truth, this is a little bit of an intimidating viewpoint, but I got to experience what it felt like flying a plane. (Disclaimer for legal reasons: I wasn't actually flying it.)
