A romantic, intimate affair at sunset overlooking the Nashville skyline - Melissa and Jon's rooftop wedding is simply sensational. The bride visualized their union being less about the details and more about the love story that surrounds the day. Melissa wanted a simple design in a candlelight setting to mimic a spiritual element. She imagined the day being all about their fire. She did just that as everyone celebrated a breathtaking story of two that are madly in love.
My day with the couple started at their home with the guys. Being a Sunday wedding in the Fall, it was still certain the groom and groomsmen would continue their weekly tradition of watching football together. I met the gentlemen and captured a little of what they do in their spare time. All being huge football fans, Jon decided instead of boutonnieres that they would all be surprised with their favorite teams' pins. Also Jon is heavily affiliated with Jack Daniels and had custom boxes handcrafted from whiskey barrels to hold their groomsmen gifts. Who else thinks Jon did fantastic?
I continued the day at the Westin hotel in downtown Nashville with the ladies. No doubt the prettiest hotel I've ever seen. The design is phenomenal and made for a great background for detail photographs. From there we made our way over to The Bridge Building where they continued getting ready for the rooftop wedding ceremony at sunset.
After a heartwarming ceremony, we continued downstairs for dinner and cake while they turned the rooftop into a party floor. The intimate dinner was filled with so many tears of joy as the best men and maid of honor graced us with beautiful words during their speeches as well as the groom surprising his wife with some special words.
The day was truly beautiful and their smiles say it all. And the view of downtown Nashville on the river isn't bad either.
