Adventurous Engagement Session at Snoopers Rock in Chattanooga | LGBT Wedding Photographer
One of the best things couples can do is to just trust me throughout all aspects of their whole experience with me. Lexy and Charly told me they wanted to take their engagement pictures somewhere pretty in Chattanooga, essentially leaving the location up to me. I strive to find places that are somewhat out of the ordinary, a bit adventurous, and it’s a cherry on top when those locations turn out having killer views like this one at Snoopers Rock. I’m loving that I discover more and more about this state each time I venture out. Little did I know that Tennessee had its very own horseshoe bend.
I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason, and the timing of this shoot is another markup to fate. After time zone confusions because this was a road trip for everyone, detouring delays from a fallen tree blocking the highway (had our time been correct I likely could have been under that tree), and fast-pace hiking to this lookout before we lost light, the wooded trail opened up just in time to give us a breathtaking view of the gorge glowing at sunset. This is my first session after the sun had faded, and holy moly I’m crazy about the mood. Adventure + intimacy is always my favorite. Fun fact: the mom in me came out when they wanted to sit on the edge and dangle their feet above the huge drop-off in the end. I had to keep my back turned to them while they got in place, like that was going to help keep them safer or something - haha!
