Urban Glam Inspired Wedding at The Cannery in Nashville, TN
Lost + Found:
The first work trip to Nashville, TN
Recently I dusted off the old hard drives and revisited a few weddings I have photographed. For a while I had been making trips with my brother to see concerts in Nashville. Through all my music indulging trips, I fell in love with the city. I am the adventurous and wanderlust-filled nature lady, but something about Nashville has my heart. Mid-2014 the thought of expanding my wedding photography to the market seemed like a grand idea. More than I ever dreamed, it has been an amazing experience in Nashville, and I am only getting started.
our first concert 2013: Tori Kelly at Exit-In
I knew expanding a wedding photographing business in a fresh market was going to be challenging at first. I did not know a single face in town and not a soul knew my business. I decided to bring in a model and style an editorial shoot inspired by this city-girl side of me and collaborate with other local vendors. This gave Nashville marketing images for my portfolio as well as the ability to connect with other artist in the wedding industry. Inspired by the urban glam appeal, I chose teal and deep purple tones, spiced it up with some peacock feathers because I am obsessed with them, threw in some gold, and rocked the most sparkling dress designed by Maggie Sottero. I also added a touch of musical vibes (of course!) with the food and drink menus. The best part of this all is that the shoot was hosted at a concert venue on Cannery Row that had great memories, but would later be the same place my brother and I watched Tori Kelly for the second time at the very moment I was in the running for a Nashville magazine cover with an image from this shoot! Synchronicity is funny like that ☾
behind the scenes
Someone thought the dumpster needed to feel special.
And I like the reflection of myself in his eyes.
