Artist’s Diary

Sometimes we meet people in life and feel an instant soul recognition. Rachel Clift is one of those divinely orchestrated connections, and I wrote a poem for her after a road trip to the mountains in North Carolina.

Standing in awe, gazing up at the bright sky peeking through the canyon, I kept thinking to myself this is so surreal. I couldn’t believe such wonders exist, much less to be standing in the depths of it.

Six years ago, I set out to live a life crafted with intention and depth. I bought my first VW and started taking solo road trips to discover pieces of myself that I knew were buried in adventure.

One of my dearest friends, Rachel Clift, wrote this poem during the reception at a wedding she recently attending after hearing “til death” knowing twin flame souls are beyond this lifetime.

Inspired by the emotional depth of poetry, I decided to give my creative skills an attempt at writing my own. Dated July 2019, I mediated on self-awareness (the light & the dark) and wrote my first poem.
