Frequently Asked Questions
HOW TO BOOK
Booking is simple. Once you know you are ready to book, I will send you a contract to sign via online, obtain the retainer fee, and you will have your wedding photographer set. I require a 25% retainer plus any travel expenses (if it is outside my local area) due at booking with the remainder due just 30 days before the event. You can choose to pay the remainder all at once when it is due or opt for a payment plan; whichever is easier for you. I accept checks or online bank or credit card payments for convenience.
WHEN TO BOOK
As soon as you know I am the one. Dates are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and will not be held without a contract and retainer. I have booked weddings over 2 years in advance before; so you never know when your special date will no longer be available.
The local area is considered both Knoxville and Nashville, TN - within a 50 mile radius of both cities. I am happy to travel outside these areas for engagement sessions and weddings. A mileage fee may apply. Long distance locations are custom priced within an all-inclusive package depending on the destination. Passport is always current and ready to travel whenever and wherever.
WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU HAVE
One that takes decent pictures. Ha! On a serious note, I have a full lineup of the top Canon gear. Full-frame cameras, L-series lenses, flashes; the whole shebang. I am equipped to cover any lighting situation presented.
You bet. I will be happy to send an insurance certificate to the venue if needed.
Photography is an area where many people are confused as to why sales tax is necessary. Short answer is a client is provided with a product whether it is delivered digitally or physically therefore sales tax must be paid on the photograph and the service that was provided to make the photograph possible. A sales tax rate of 9.75% is required if you live in the state of Tennessee and/or the event is taking place within the state of Tennessee. Good news if you book me for a wedding elsewhere no tax is necessary.
HAVE I SHOT YOUR LOCATION
Over the past 7 years, I have shot a numerous amount of venues locally so there is a good chance I have. If I have not photographed on location, I feel completely comfortable in shooting a new place sight unseen. However if you would like I could visit the venue prior to the wedding day. For destination weddings I arrive a day early and can allow time to visit the location before the wedding.
