Linville Gorge Wilderness
Hands down this is my favorite hiking trail in all the Southeast. Though it is breathtakingly beautiful with incredible mountain views, I’m a teeny bit bias because it is the location of a moment my brother captured that later became the cover of my book Tuesdays, Heartbreaks, and Soulmates. If you do not already know, this collection of travel photography and poetry about my adventurous journey to self-discovery is actually how my partner and I met. When I was writing, I felt in the deepest part of my soul that it would somehow find my person and call him Home. Weeks after my book was published, a copy was lended to him through a chain of divinely orchestrated connections. Guided by our higher selves, he read my words and knew I was made for him—and he was beautifully crafted for me.

Adventure Couples Photography
Fast-forward to Woody and Sussy’s engagement session on 11/11, I’m taking Colin to Hawksbill Mountain Trail for the first time ever. This is also our new puppy’s very first hike, and that is so special to us. Though Jasper did little hiking and rather snored most of the time in his baby sling.
Speaking of new experiences, this was also the bride-to-be’s first hike. After choosing their location for the engagement session, I helped them plan their experience by providing trail conditions, when and where to meet, things to wear and pack, Leave No Trace education to protect the land we explore, and all the details needed to ensure their day was a success as well as an unforgettable memory.

With the deep passion I have for adventures, it gives me an indescribable sense of joy to introduce and share these spaces with others. Everything about my career as an adventure photographer is intentionally crafted to not only hone in my on creative talent and ability to skillfully navigate the outdoors, but also to fill my own bucket by immersing myself in the atmosphere I love the most. I can tell you things about every single client interaction that has further inspired my life path. Personally, this experience for me was a reminder that life shows up when you show up. I hope they took home as much as we did from our time spent on the mountain.
