There’s something about Glacier that holds you. Maybe it’s the way the mountains stand in quiet confidence, or how the wind carries a kind of stillness you didn’t know you needed. The land doesn’t ask you to perform. It invites you to slow down, to feel more deeply, to remember what brought you here in the first place—each other.
Deagan and Alex committed themselves to a two-day elopement in the Smoky Mountains that would challenge their physical and mental strength on the strenuous hike to the summit of Mount LeConte and sleeping in the backcountry shelter. It was a representation of perseverance and reconnection to life force.
Hurricane Helene brought chaos and change into the lives of so many people, but Asheville and surrounding areas on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina became impassable. For us, and Jackie and Dave, this meant a last minute change of elopement plans. In only 4 days, we pivoted, crafting the adventure of a lifetime in Vermont.
