Montana carried the energy of vulnerability and honest Love. It felt humbling and sincere. To me, Montana became a symbolic representation of Home. Not one that my human body has lived in, but a homely ground that my spirit is infused into. Intuitively, I knew that when Montana’s energy manifested in physical form in my life that I would indeed be at home within.

“tie me tight in little strands of paradise” a nod to John Mayer and his lyrical verses.
There’s something about Glacier that holds you. Maybe it’s the way the mountains stand in quiet confidence, or how the wind carries a kind of stillness you didn’t know you needed. The land doesn’t ask you to perform. It invites you to slow down, to feel more deeply, to remember what brought you here in the first place—each other.
Eloping in Montana isn’t about skipping tradition. It’s about choosing something more aligned. Something that feels like your love: rooted, a little wild, and fully present. It’s walking into a vast, untamed landscape and saying, This is enough. You are enough. Together, that’s more than enough.
Deagan and Alex committed themselves to a two-day backpacking elopement that would challenge their physical and mental strength on the strenuous hike to the summit of Mount LeConte. It was a representation of perseverance and reconnection to life force. An experience like this is bound to change you, but the time spent together unlocked more than we ever anticipated while planning the adventure elopement in the Smoky Mountains.
Life is transformation. We are stripped, fragmented, and fractured into our many moving parts time and time again. We are the watchers from within, sitting front row to experience the ever-changing nature of the Universe. This change, this pattern, shows itself throughout our external world. Indigenous people believe ferns represent new beginnings. The dense ferns that draped the entire forest floor on our first camping trip were present in the many unfolding moments of Us that followed. Our story is powerful, and the symbolic journey we see and feel reminds us that the world is alive and breathing.
It’s no surprise that the Smoky Mountains are a top choice for weddings and elopements in the U.S. With more than 800 miles of scenic hiking trails and 2,800 miles of winding streams, this stunning park offers an amazing backdrop for an unforgettable experience. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about tying the knot in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Hurricane Helene brought chaos and change into the lives of so many people, but Asheville and surrounding areas on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina became impassable. For us, and Jackie and Dave, this meant a last minute change of elopement plans. In only 4 days, we pivoted, crafting the adventure of a lifetime in Vermont.
No matter how an elopement unfolds, we know that we are always given exactly what is meant for us. Rather than expectations, we chase our intentions and how we want to feel during an experience, and that is what drives the creative process of helping couples plan adventures. Our job as your photographers is not only to capture the day, but guide you into being fully present. Connection is the fundamental principle of our art.
